LEAD CLINICIAN - SHERIDAN COUNTY

About the role

As the Lead Clinician, you will provide and coordinate clinical services across all phases of a patient's treatment within residential programs, recovery homes, or outpatient facilities. This role leverages specialized expertise in substance addiction and/or mental health disorders and includes supervising clinical staff to ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily oversight of clinical facility operations, utilization reviews, and quality assurance of patient services, including monitoring collaborative documentation, productivity, incomplete documentation, MIS/DLA, etc.
• Collaborate with the Clinic Director on program development, implementation, and general management of organizational care services.
• Provide regular supervision of clinical staff and monitor all written documentation.
• Support daytime and after-hours on-call duties, including supervising staff who sign up for on-call days.
• Conduct comprehensive mental health and substance abuse evaluations, prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations, and ensure timely completion of all clinical documentation (e.g., psychosocial histories, assessments, treatment plans, admission and discharge summaries).
• Provide individual counseling and facilitate educational and counseling groups; document these activities promptly in patient records.
• Collaborate with the Clinic Director to develop and revise educational and/or therapeutic curricula for group settings involving patients and family members.
• Assist patients in understanding and completing therapeutic change objective-driven treatment plans.
• Work cooperatively with the multi-disciplinary team and community resources to coordinate patient services.
• Manage and maintain the ongoing training schedule for the clinical team.
• Assist with clinician on-boarding and training.
• Handle administrative duties such as timecards, leave, disciplinary actions, and other tasks as needed.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with community members and stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Counseling or Clinical Social Work from a CACREP, CORE, or CSWE-accredited program.
• Fully licensed as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT through the Wyoming Mental Health Professions Licensing Board, or eligible for licensure if currently licensed out-of-state.
• Meets Wyoming Mental Health Professions Licensing Board criteria to clinically supervise provisionally licensed clinicians.
• Qualifies as a substance abuse professional, clinician, or assistant under the State of Wyoming’s Division of Behavioral Health Standards for the Operation of Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Programs.
• Proficient in computer software programs, including Microsoft Suite and Zoom.

Preferred Experience

• Five years of post-licensure clinical experience, with some directly related to serving persons with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness and/or addiction disorders.
• One year of supervisory experience.

Work Environment

This role operates in an Outpatient Clinic and/or Residential Treatment facility. Routine use of standard office equipment such as laptops, photocopiers, telehealth technology, and smartphones is required.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include regular talking or hearing, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The position may require lifting files, opening filing cabinets, bending, standing, or stooping, as well as extended periods of computer work.
