About the Role

In addition to the duties and responsibilities of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), a Lead CLS works alongside the Laboratory Director to accomplish tasks requiring skills in assigning tasks/sub-tasks, oversight, and ensuring completion for the smooth operation of the laboratory. This role serves as the main point of contact in the lab for any issues and performs the duties of the laboratory manager in their absence.

We are located at 1065 Bucks Lake Road, Quincy, CA 95971, in a setting with rugged canyons, crystal clear lakes, grassy meadows, trout-filled streams, fresh pine forests, and brilliant star-filled skies. Responsibilities

  • Lead the CLS team in the lab.
  • Create and submit schedules for CLSs in the lab to the laboratory manager for approval.
  • Review and provide oversight for point-of-care testing in RHC clinics and hospital nursing staff, including annual training and assessment.
  • Oversee proficiency testing, including review and submission of proficiency testing data and corrective action for all failed proficiency testing.
  • Be available for questions and cover the lab in case of an emergency.

Requirements

  • Valid California CLS license.
  • Bachelor of Science degree.
  • At least two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Computer keyboard skills.

Pay

Base rate: $74.25 - $105.86 per hour for non-benefited, per diem positions. Starting pay is determined using a clinical pay scale with 13 steps, recognizing up to 30 years of relevant experience. Eligible employees may also receive shift differential and holiday pay.
