Job Summary
Cubs Child Care is seeking an experienced Lead Educator to join our team of dedicated early childhood professionals. Our program, which includes three classrooms serving infants through pre-kindergarten, emphasizes play-based learning, exploration, and the unique opportunities of being in the Stowe Mountain Resort environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement curriculum through classroom activities grounded in developmentally appropriate practices and aligned with early learning standards.
- Plan and lead individual and group age-appropriate activities that actively engage children and promote social, cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
- Communicate frequently and effectively with parents through informal discussions, progress updates, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are consistently met and upheld.
- Maintain a healthy classroom environment, including appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards, and ensure the safety and security of all children.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and files in compliance with program and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and follow a personal professional development plan to support continuous quality improvement.
- Foster a positive teaching team and create a welcoming, inclusive environment for children, families, and visitors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Meets or exceeds the qualifications of a Teacher Assistant as defined by Vermont Child Care Licensing Regulations, including possession of a High School Diploma or GED and approved higher-ed coursework in early childhood education or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience working in a licensed child care or early childhood education setting.
- Meets all state licensing requirements for Lead Teacher position qualifications as outlined by Vermont’s Child Care Licensing Regulations.
- Current Infant/Child First Aid and CPR certifications, or the ability to obtain certification within four (4) weeks of employment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of care.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment.
- Solid understanding of child development principles and a willingness to engage in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Strong organizational skills, effective interpersonal communication abilities, and emerging leadership competencies appropriate for a lead role.
- Ability to adhere to all program procedures, organizational policies, and state licensing regulations as outlined in the employee handbook and regulatory manual.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff at all times.
