About the role

The Revenue Cycle Lead, CDI serves as an expert resource for staff and assists supervisory staff in assigned area with workflow and day-to-day operations. This position supports organizational goals by identifying opportunities to partner with providers for documentation education and feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Supports workflow and day-to-day operations
  • Conducts training and mentoring sessions
  • Aids employees with day-to-day questions, issues, or problems
  • Escalates identified systemic issues to supervisor
  • Manages assigned work queues
  • Validates monthly reporting for staff, providers, and leadership

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge and experience in clinical record reviews, 3M encoder coding systems, DRG system, and Epic EHR system
  • Expert level working knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS coding conventions and SOI/ROM
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Effective problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years' experience required as a CDI specialist
  • Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Medical Graduate degree or Associate/Bachelor Degree in other clinical health profession
  • Minimum of three years hands-on clinical experience either obtained through clinical experience in nursing (i.e. RN, BSN), medical school, respiratory therapy, physician's assistant, or residency or 5 years of inpatient acute care medical coding experience
  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) certifications required

Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of clinical record reviews, coding systems, and EHR systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Effective problem-solving skills

Benefits

The position is currently primarily remote. BSN, PA or medical graduate degree. Prior experience in CDI at a large academic medical center. Salary Range $91,195.93 to $138,605.53 Annual. The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
