About the Role
EXOVATIONS® is seeking a Lead Carpenter (LC) to serve as the crew leader for a team of Carpenters installing decks, porches, windows, and doors. This position offers opportunities to grow within a two-tiered process, with potential career advancement into project management. The Lead Carpenter is responsible for project completion, worksite safety, customer satisfaction, and accurate project documentation.
Responsibilities
- Performs carpentry tasks with the highest quality of craftsmanship in the time allotted.
- Stays informed of the entire project scope, including revisions, change orders, or schedule changes.
- Leads a team of Carpenters to perform assigned project tasks.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with the Installation Manager, Project Manager, team members, and clients as the working jobsite manager.
- Ensures jobsite safety, cleanliness, security, and protection from the elements.
- Maintains a first aid kit on site at all times.
- Orders construction materials as needed.
- Holds themselves and all carpenters under their direction accountable for work performance, actions, and appearance.
- Ensures project production aligns with plans and specifications.
- Participates in and prepares for weekly on-site meetings with clients, Installation Manager, and Project Manager.
- Maintains a positive attitude even through adversity.
- Problem-solves independently without direction from superiors.
- Travels to job sites by car, truck, or other transportation to perform essential duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Installation Manager or management personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Meets all requirements of the Carpenter IV position with EXO.
- Lead or management experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Positive, upbeat attitude.
- Dependable, reliable, and strong work ethic.
- Current and valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

Physical and Mental Requirements
- Performs physical tasks for the duration of an 8–10-hour shift.
- Wears personal protective equipment as required (safety glasses, dust mask, gloves, safety harness above 4 ft).
- Regular ladder and tool checks.
- Operates company vehicles and associated equipment.
- Performs rigorous outdoor duties: walking, standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching above and below shoulders, sitting.
- Lifts and carries heavy objects, including regular lifting of up to 100 pounds.
- Good fine motor skills, coordination, range of motion, and grip strength.
- Works in all climate conditions.
- Exposure to loud noise levels.
- Uses power tools, pneumatic tools, and hand tools (skill saws, miter saws, nail guns, Sawzall, general carpentry tools).
- Works in environments containing dirt, grease, and dust.
- Works safely around heavy machinery and equipment.
- Reads, writes, and understands English.
- Effectively interacts with others internally and externally.

Pay
$24 per hour.
