What You’ll Do
- Take ownership of the day‑to‑day job site and serve as Schloegel’s on‑site project lead.
- Be the primary point of contact for homeowners during construction, keeping them informed and confident.
- Oversee daily progress while performing rough and finish carpentry as needed.
- Manage project schedules and collaborate closely with Project Directors to keep projects moving.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and in‑house team members.
- Review plans, selections, change orders, materials, and upcoming work to stay ahead of project needs.
- Maintain Schloegel standards for craftsmanship, job‑site safety, cleanliness, security, and protection of the client’s home.
- Hold subcontractors, vendors, and in‑house labor accountable to project expectations.
- Use Buildertrend to keep project information, schedules, communication, and documentation accurate and up to date.
What We’re Looking For
- Deep knowledge of remodeling, especially working in existing homes.
- Strong craftsmanship with an eye for detail.
- Ability to lead a job site, coordinate trades, and keep people moving in the same direction.
- Excellent communication skills with homeowners, subcontractors, and team members.
- Proactive problem‑solving mindset, identifying issues early and presenting solutions.
- Self‑directed ownership without needing constant supervision.
- Team‑player attitude, knowing when to call in a Project Director or other support.
- Reliability and follow‑through on commitments.
Additional Qualifications
- Five or more years of remodeling experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of rough and finish carpentry.
- Working knowledge of the various trades involved in residential remodeling.
- Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and project documentation.
- Strong client and subcontractor communication skills.
- Comfortable learning and using technology such as Buildertrend.
Schedule
Typical workday is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some flexibility may be required to meet project commitments.
