About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Technologist who serves as an expert resource for sonographers, students, and physicians. This role involves troubleshooting equipment and IT issues, assisting with order management, scanning, and measurements, and leading daily huddles. The Lead Tech also attends trainings and leadership meetings, participates in staff interviews, coordinates shadow experiences, gathers data for ICAEL accreditation, and oversees department scheduling and workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert resource for sonographers, students, and physicians.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and IT concerns.
  • Assist with changing and canceling orders.
  • Assist with scanning and measurements.
  • Attend trainings and leadership meetings.
  • Lead daily huddles.
  • Assist with staff interviews and coordinate shadow experiences.
  • Gather necessary data and submit ICAEL accreditation survey for renewal periods.
  • Oversee department scheduling and daily workflows of scheduled staff and students.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience performing echocardiography and vascular imaging preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; AAS or BS preferred.
  • RDCS or RCS certification required; AE, FE, or PE preferred.
  • Graduate of a formal cardiac sonography training program required.
  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound techniques, principles, and procedures.
  • Competence with imaging equipment required.
  • BLS/CPR certification must be obtained and maintained.
  • Participates in continuing education and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Skills

  • Proficiency with imaging equipment (projectors, cine processors), digital imaging, and associated QC testing equipment.
  • Ability to learn biomedical electronic, radiologic imaging, computer data entry, and hemodynamic monitoring skills.

Work Environment

  • Office/Clinical setting.
  • Exposure Class I – Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions, or secretions.
  • Intermittent to regular exposure to unpleasant physical conditions.
  • Regular exposure to situations that could cause moderate to serious injury or illness.
  • Chemical hazards – works with film processing chemicals (see Materials Safety Data Sheets).
  • Radiation exposure when testing equipment.

Physical Demands

Heavy work involving pushing, pulling, walking, standing, and lifting.

Pay

Pay range: $41.45 - $62.20 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary based on location.
