Lead Cabling Technician

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform on-site installations of voice, data, fiber optics, CCTV, and security systems.
• Create and provide innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
• Install voice and data cabling to specifications.
• Efficiently and accurately terminate Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling.
• Set and manage customer expectations.
• Report to the customer and company management.
• Read, understand, and perform project scope of work with minimal supervision.
• Build out network closets.
• Install proper grounding for IT equipment.
• Accurately test, label, and document all cable jobs.
• Manage crews, job hours, and material associated with a project.
• Determine and manage materials and manhours for a project.
• Practice safety standards that meet OSHA requirements.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
• Demonstrate a high level of organizational skills and the ability to self-manage and prioritize a dynamic workload.
• Willing to travel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in the voice/data industry.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in all areas of telecom and security installations.
• Experience with reading and understanding blueprints and construction drawings.
• Knowledge and understanding of cabling standards and building codes.
• Knowledge of PBX/Telephone equipment.
• BICSI Certification a plus.

• Reliable transportation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with exceptional problem-solving abilities and a get it done attitude.
• Exercise the highest ethical standards.
• Ability to lift materials weighing 50 plus lbs.
• Successful completion of a drug screening and a criminal background check.

Pay

Compensation Range is $40K-$60K DOE.
