Lead Business Analyst (Finance)
About the role
This Lead Business Analyst position at Emerson Professional Tools offers a unique opportunity to partner closely with finance teams to enhance and optimize critical business processes within a global ERP environment. You will leverage your finance background to support accounting, reporting, and operational workflows while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement scalable solutions. In this role, you will also mentor other analysts and drive continuous improvement, helping Emerson deliver data-driven insights and maintain strong financial and operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Balance multiple projects while aligning business stakeholder needs with available resources.
- Support a global ERP user base by serving as a subject matter resource across multiple functional areas, including responding to user inquiries, facilitating virtual training sessions, and developing training materials.
- Steward global process and data standards for your functional area in collaboration with stakeholders, business analysts, and development teams.
- Identify opportunities for system and process improvements by building an understanding of business needs and workflows.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate system configurations or data changes and confirm expected results without disrupting dependent processes.
- Guide end users on configuration options and system impacts to promote effective adoption.
- Use analytical tools to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Perform ad hoc reporting as requested by leadership.
- Manage projects in alignment with Emerson and Professional Tools methodologies.
- Partner with ERP technical support to troubleshoot and resolve user-reported issues.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Business Analysts, fostering development and knowledge sharing.
- Allocate approximately 70% of time to analyst responsibilities and 30% to mentoring and team leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any field; equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years’ experience preferred in Business Analyst roles, or equivalent finance experience.
- Understanding of journal entries, working with subsidiary ledgers, and GAAP concepts.
- Comprehension of standard cost accounting, financial reporting, and inventory movement.
- Familiarity with the use of Automatic Accounting Instructions for transactions.
- Awareness of internal controls, multi-currency, and audit compliance.
- Knowledge of Chart of Accounts design (Assets, Liabilities, Sales, etc).
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask.
- Ability to engage and motivate cross-functional team members.
- Cross-functional awareness—understand needs of different users/functions.
- Ability to work before or after normal US office hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading teams.
- Experience using JDE or similar integrated ERP System.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and functions of the organization, in written and oral presentation.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $105,000–$145,000 annually, commensurate with skills, talent, capabilities, and experience within the local market.
