About the role
Responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of building mechanical and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Performs or arranges all tests, maintenance, repairs and replacement of all associated equipment that relates to HVAC, electrical systems, emergency power systems, plumbing, fire alarms and sprinkler systems.
- Performs general and preventative maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill in painting, carpentry, masonry, lock repair, grounds keeping, etc.
- Oversee and operate all building systems including building automated control system, fire and life safety, energy management, HVAC, electrical and plumbing procedures, and maintenance.
- Estimate costs of modifications and/or new installations.
- Led, direct and train lower classified employees in accordance with all building codes and regulations including OSHA.
- Review and inspect work by contractors.
- Inspect buildings regularly to identify any structural issues or malfunctions within the building systems.
- Perform work orders, interact with customers and troubleshoot problems.
- Performs soldering, carpentry, furniture assembly, moves and all other maintenance tasks as needed.
Requirements
- DC Class 3 - Steam and Hot Water Heating Boiler Engineer and MD Grade 3 � Stationary Engineer.
- If in possession of one license at the date of hire (DC or MD), must obtain the additional required state license within one year of hire.
- Special License in Electrical Maintenance and Repair Work.
- Universal CFC Certificate.
- Valid driver license.
- FERC and NERC Certification.
- Ability to write, speak, read, comprehend, and communicate clearly and accurately with the English language.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing information of a complex nature.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, modify and correct blueprints, schematics, sketches and diagrams.
- Ability to provide instruction pertaining to equipment tested, maintained, fabricated or erected.
- Ability to utilize information technology systems.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent.
Skills
Must have practical skill in painting, carpentry, masonry, lock repair, grounds keeping, etc.

- Hourly rates will be paid in accordance with terms of the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience or collective bargaining agreement: $48.53/Hr.
