Job Summary

TYLin is seeking a Lead Bridge Engineer to join their Bridge Sector in the Northeast Sector based in New Jersey. This role involves participating in a wide range of exciting projects both regionally, nationally, and internationally. Key responsibilities include developing bridge and structure designs, managing projects, and overseeing design processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design and analysis of complex concrete and steel bridge structures.
  • Experience with long-span bridges is an asset.
  • Advanced structural engineering and analysis capabilities, including seismic analysis.
  • Design of concrete and steel bridge structures.
  • Develop designs, contract plans and specifications.
  • Cook up CAD production activities for drawing production.
  • Conduct quality control activities for independent review and checking of structural designs.
  • Interface with civil engineers for development of complete project plans and specifications.
  • Develop engineering studies, reports and documentation.
  • Oversee and review calculations and designs performed by engineers.
  • Other assignments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering License (PE) in New Jersey.
  • A license in New York and/or Pennsylvania will be a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil / structural engineering required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 10+ years of structural design experience in bridges and related structures.
  • Project management experience is also required.
  • Experience delivering NJTA/NJDOT projects will be preferred.
  • Ability to perform advanced structural analysis and designs.
  • Experience in CSI Bridge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO, NJDOT, PennDOT and NJTA design and standards preferred.
  • Proficient in leading technical aspects of bridge projects, writing reports, preparing drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.

  • Sound oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.

The base compensation range for this position is $153,600 - $230,400 annually.
