About the role

This position prepares and receives orders, moves, stocks, scans, and records product inventory. The role also provides customer service and tints and mixes paint to customer specifications as needed. The selected individual will work at Store #704307, located at 1373 Ingleside Road, Norfolk, VA, 23502.

A review of criminal history is required for this role due to customer interactions, access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, and store merchandise.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
  • Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store).
  • Perform inventory controls and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Load and unload products from deliveries.
  • Rotate stock and pull product from the sales floor and stockroom as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
  • Complete daily logs into inventory and report any discrepancies.
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Support sales efforts at a Sherwin-Williams commercial paint store, servicing wholesale customers.
  • Ensure the stockroom is organized.
  • Mix and tint paint to customer specifications as needed.
  • Assist customers to support store sales when necessary.
  • Assist in making deliveries as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for an employment work visa now or in the future.
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
  • Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts).
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience working in a delivery, retail, or customer service position.
  • Must have previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products.
  • Must have previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment.
  • If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on the most recent performance appraisal.
  • If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for your current position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.
