About the role
The h.wood Group is a Los Angeles-based hospitality and lifestyle company known for its upscale nightlife and restaurant concepts. This position will be part of the launch of a new venue on Sunset Boulevard, offering a unique sushi and Asian-inspired dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Create cocktail and liquor menus in conjunction with in-venue management.
- Manage the bar and cocktail program to ensure alignment with venue concept.
- Maintain inventory control and receive all liquor and related supplies in conjunction with in-venue management.
- Cook up weekly ordering in consultation with management.
- Lead all new hire beverage training in consultation with in-venue managers.
- Ensure compliance of all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the bar and bar equipment.
- Aid in cocktail development for seasonal and trend changes.
- Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner, maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Recognize areas for improvement and offer positive solutions for change.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
- Perform all opening and closing duties.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of Japanese mixology and cocktail programs.
- Must have attention to detail and willingness to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Must be able to stand during entire shift, often up to 8 hours with frequent bending, squatting, and lifting.
- Must be 21+ years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Must have high energy, great communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and trustworthy.
- Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
