Lead Barista

About the Role

The Omaha Marriott at the Capitol District is seeking a dedicated Starbucks Lead Barista to guide and support the team, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional service. In this role, you will supervise staff, craft beverages, maintain a positive atmosphere, and deliver the warm, welcoming experience guests expect.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in the manager's absence and train new team members.
• Provide quality beverages consistently, preparing Starbucks beverages to standard.
• Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work area.
• Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products.
• Ascertain guest satisfaction; tactfully resolve dissatisfaction when necessary.
• Comply with accounting guidelines for payments, cash drawer, and house bank management.
• Balance the house bank at the end of each shift.
• Perform general cleaning tasks using standard outlet cleaning products to adhere to health standards.

Requirements

• Previous Barista experience is required.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Ability to work a varied schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and under pressure.
• Must be able to learn all menu items and up-selling techniques.
• Basic mathematical skills for operating a cash register, making change, counting totals, and preparing cash drops.
• Ability to effectively resolve conflict situations, such as inaccurate check totals.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficient to understand menus, promotions, and communicate with guests.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and Point of Sale system for cashier functions.
