Lead Backend Architect

The Lead Backend Architect will define and build the foundation of scalable backend systems that support innovative technology solutions. This role focuses on designing reliable, high-performance services and APIs while driving architectural decisions across complex software platforms. You will work closely with engineering, product, QA, DevOps, and other teams to deliver secure, efficient, and maintainable backend solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience developing and maintaining backend systems in production environments.
• Strong expertise in Python and Django for backend application development.
• Proven experience designing scalable architectures and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including database schema design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience using Redis for caching, messaging, and real-time data processing.
• Practical experience with Elasticsearch for search, indexing, and analytics workloads preferred.
• Strong understanding of API design, development, documentation, and testing practices.
• Experience building asynchronous processing systems with Celery and production background workers.
• Strong commitment to automated testing practices and unit test development using pytest or similar frameworks.
• Experience with Docker, containerized deployments, and modern DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and software delivery automation.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams.
