About the role

The Deloitte AI & Engineering team transforms technology platforms, drives innovation, and makes a significant impact on clients' success. As a Lead Software Engineer II, you will design, build, and maintain Cloud Solutions and Artificial Intelligence architectures for multiple government clients.

Responsibilities

  • Coach client teams and end users on cloud capabilities and enablement, while building trusted relationships, managing expectations, and supporting long-term engagement success
  • Lead client discussions on the design of technical environments and architecture
  • Define and implement enterprise integration patterns using AWS integration services
  • Apply architecture decisions that balance quality, safety, latency, cost, and model risk
  • Deliver production-quality code using strong practices in testing, CI/CD, logging, versioning, and documentation
  • Design extensible functionality, support sprint sizing, and align solutions with senior team members
  • Mentor and support junior team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Data Science or Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, data engineering, or analytics engineering
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience hands-on cloud engineering in AWS, including cloud migrations and hybrid networking
  • 1+ years of experience with AWS including hands-on experience with one of the following key platform technologies: Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock Agents, Knowledge Bases, Guardrails
  • 1+ years of experience building reliable, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Ability to travel 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance (or higher)

Qualifications

  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly alongside client technical teams and program stakeholders in fast-paced, ambiguous delivery environments
  • Experience with machine learning operations/large language model operations practices: evaluation frameworks, model monitoring, and prompt management
  • Experience integrating large language model solutions with enterprise systems via application programming interfaces, microservices, or event-driven architectures
  • Familiarity with security, privacy, and compliance considerations
