Lead Autonomy Behavior Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and test advanced robotics software in C/C++ for autonomous vehicle control
• Lead team code quality initiatives through design and code reviews
• Offer technical support and guidance to the Technical Support Team for diagnosing issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to articulate software and system specifications for vehicle behavior
• Work with data science teams to create and track metrics for performance evaluation of vehicle systems
• Develop and execute unit and simulation tests to ensure vehicle performance meets operational standards
• Conduct on-vehicle tests to verify real-world performance of autonomous vehicle software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field requiring strong math/engineering foundation
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with real-world robotic systems, including managing commercial projects that deliver critical functionality
• Proficient in developing capabilities for topics like behavior planning and machine learning relevant to robotics
• Deep understanding of various non-linear control approaches for mobile robotics or autonomous vehicles
• Strong coding skills, specifically in C/C++, with practical experience in Linux-based software development
• Familiarity with standard development tools such as Git, Valgrind, and GDB
