Athletic Trainer Career
Serving as a Lead Athletic Trainer for Cognito Systems within the Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program at Schofield Barracks, HI, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing Soldier health and readiness. Your responsibilities include:
- Serve as Brigade Lead Athletic Trainer and principal advisor to the Injury Control Director on acute care, injury control, reconditioning, and performance optimization.
- Coordinate with the Brigade H2F Strength and Conditioning team, Fitness Trainers, and Brigade Command Sergeant Major to support unit training programs.
- Ensure education, instruction, and guidance to Soldiers and Brigade leadership is aligned with the training calendar.
- Provide an overview briefing to new Soldiers, covering AT services, reasons to seek AT services, and availability.
- Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment and supply tracking, reporting any issues to the Brigade Program Director.
- Complete and submit monthly status reports, emphasizing recommendations, best practices, and lessons learned.
- Attend and participate in meetings with Brigade leadership as requested.
- Review and prepare reports as requested by the Brigade Program Director and Injury Control Director/clinical supervisor.
- Participate in meetings with other H2F Performance Team members and medical personnel as requested.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Brigade Program Director and Injury Control Director/clinical supervisor.
- Ensure timely completion of documentation, Monthly Status Reports, peer reviews, and other required documents.
- Contribute to H2F Program reviews to identify best practices and recommend improvements.
- Act as the Point of Contact for Cognito Systems, relaying information and collaborating with the Project Manager.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field such as Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, etc., from an accredited university.
- Unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands.
- Five years of relevant Athletic Training work experience.
- Experience working with active populations (e.g., military, high school, collegiate, professional sports, performing arts, occupational health).
- U.S. Citizenship.
