About the role

The Lead is responsible for an assigned manufacturing area, assisting and supporting the supervisor with employee training, safety adherence, department performance, product quality, process improvement, and meeting production target goals. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies are essential functions of this role.

Responsibilities

• Enforce strict safety guidelines and ensure environmental compliance is adhered to by employees.
• Ensure the department runs efficiently within standards for productivity, labor, and raw materials.
• Complete department audits and ensure assigned safety and compliance training is completed and upheld by employees.
• Provide coaching and training to improve employee performance and acknowledge positive results.
• Recommend staffing adjustments including hours, shifts, and overtime to meet area-specific objectives.
• Maintain a clean work environment and monitor/report department issues.
• Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements within the department.
• Communicate department needs to the supervisor to ensure proper resources are available to meet production goals.
• Adhere to and communicate company policies to employees, ensuring requirements are met.
• Track and report daily production metrics to the supervisor.
• Interpret work orders and ensure the team has what they need to execute successfully.
• Meet department and production goals set by the supervisor.
• Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
• Complete company compliance and safety training as required.
• Learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.

Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• 1-3 years of transformer and manufacturing experience required.
• Basic skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
• WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience preferred.
• OSHA10 certification preferred.
• Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
• Proven track record in safety excellence required.
• Adhere to all safety and environmental compliance regulations.
• Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Lift 50lbs from floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times.
• Standing and walking for long durations.
• Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for extended periods.
• Ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times.
• Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in heat and cold due to non-climate-controlled manufacturing facilities.
