Lead

About the Role

Supervises the daily activities of the indirect material handler and spider. Trains staff personnel and supervises their work to ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, policies, and deadlines, and helps resolve any issues. Responsible for evaluating employee performance. Shift: Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the daily cycle counts of various inventory assets.
• Investigate, identify, and reconcile cycle count discrepancies, including shortages and overages.
• Organize and maintain efficient material handling and storage in inventory areas.
• Implement and maintain policies and procedures related to inventory control.
• Collaborate with various departments, supporting organizational goals with a flexible attitude.
• Ensure employees work toward inventory control objectives and suggest improvements to management.
• Authorize all warehouse adjustments made to inventory.
• Provide direct supervision to material handlers and spiders, including performance evaluation and direction.
• Maintain workflow relevance to inventory and assembly lines.
• Implement rack audits and zero‑locator processes.
• Assist in reconciliation of sub‑inventories.
• Ensure timely picking of tasks.
• Maintain quality tasks related to adjustments.
• Maintain slob inventory as needed.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain training standards.
• Direct Reports: Material Handler and Production Support Specialist.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years distribution and inventory/warehousing experience.
• Previous lead experience.
• Strong knowledge of a WMS system (Oracle).

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a leadership or frontline coaching role within manufacturing.
• Diverse experience across multiple plant functions (assembly, warehouse operations, material handling, etc.).
• Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to drive operational improvements.
• Self‑directed, proactive mindset with a willingness to take initiative and make informed decisions.

Physical Demands

Employee will lift 1–50 pounds intermittently and may need to lift documents or work materials up to 70 pounds (assisted lift). The role requires walking, bending, and lifting for a significant portion of the shift, manual dexterity to assemble/repair small parts for extended periods, and the ability to listen, understand, and speak with team members at all levels.

Work Environment

The position is in a manufacturing environment where employees may work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to electrical shock, vibration, and elevated noise levels on the plant floor. Schedule

Monday – Friday, with an expectation of 40+ hours per week to meet deadlines.
