Our Gift Shop offers an opportunity to contribute to our mission by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a boutique-level shopping experience for patients, visitors, employees, and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an elevated, boutique-level customer experience by warmly welcoming every patient, visitor, employee, and guest, anticipating needs, providing knowledgeable product recommendations, and resolving concerns professionally.
  • Process and display merchandise by accurately unpacking, counting, verifying shipments, pricing, labeling, and preparing products for the sales floor according to merchandising standards and visual display guidelines.
  • Create a welcoming environment by greeting and assisting patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers, and hospital staff with professionalism, courtesy, compassion, and discretion.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process sales transactions using credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, employee badge payroll deduction, gift cards, and other approved payment methods.
  • Maintain sales floor presentation by ensuring the Gift Shop remains clean, fully stocked, visually appealing, and easy to shop, including organizing displays, straightening merchandise, and replenishing products.
  • Proactively monitor sales floor inventory and restock shelves, fixtures, and displays throughout the day to ensure merchandise availability and an attractive presentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock, fast-selling items, and replenishment needs to management; assist with inventory control through cycle counts, vendor audits, and annual physical inventory.
  • Maintain an organized stockroom by keeping it clean and efficient, storing merchandise properly, organizing backstock, and following safety and loss prevention procedures.
  • Lead daily store operations, including opening and closing the Gift Shop, following operational procedures for register setup, reconciliation, security protocols, and end-of-day responsibilities.
  • Support team development and leadership by assisting in onboarding and training new Sales Associates on customer service standards, POS procedures, merchandising practices, and daily operations.
  • Generate sales reports by preparing accurate, timely, and organized sales, transaction, and inventory reports to support business analysis and daily operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate.
  • Minimum of 1 year as a salesperson in a hospital gift shop or similar retail store, preferred.
  • Ability to work well with co-workers and volunteers.
  • Effective oral, written, and computational skills.
