Lead Assembler- 3rd Shift
What You Will Contribute
The Lead Assembler is responsible for leading a team of assemblers over multiple product families. Duties include communicating with employees, management, and sales regarding daily assembly requirements and implementing safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.
Job Duties
- Coordinates the day-to-day operation by leading and directing a group of employees to assure a smooth workflow;
- Schedule and coordinate workloads and staff to meet production schedule;
- Read and follow specifications and other instructions in order to build and assemble products and examine completed work to detect defects and verify conformance to work orders, correct any problems;
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures;
- Acts as liaison, representing the team in general; point of contact for general assembly and quality control questions;
- Train new employees and instruct employees on the proper use of equipment and tools;
- Display strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with Managers, Planning and Customer Service;
- Provide input to improve assembly processes with a focus on safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost.
Education and Experience
- A High School Degree/GED required;
- 5+ years of experience in assembly/leadership desired.
Qualifications
- Learns 101 training preferred;
- Experience in a Lean environment preferred;
- Experience with electronic assembly required;
- Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude along with the ability to read prints and measure parts while maintaining a customer-focused mentality required;
- Ability to work extended hours and occasional weekend shifts as needed required.

Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a Manufacturing environment;
- Depending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds and complete an audiogram test;
- This position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina;
- Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
