About the role
The Lead Security Engineer will support Gartner’s AppSec function. Key responsibilities include:
- Executing daily vulnerability assessments
- Working with IS partners and technology stakeholders to identify risks and vulnerabilities
- Collaborating on remediation efforts and prioritizing risk remediation
- Implementing and managing security tools and technologies
- Engineering automation solutions and integrations for AppSec
- Providing education and training on security practices
- Serving as a subject matter expert and first point of contact for security issues
- Evaluating business and technical requirements to implement security tools and processes
Requirements
Essential qualifications include:
- 6-8 years of experience in Security Engineering, with focus on DevSecOps, Cloud Security, and AppSec
- Experience with vulnerability scanning, AST platforms, and cloud security tools
- Formal experience with threat modeling
- Leadership experience in project management and resource coordination
- Ability to assess and prioritize risks, and think like a threat actor
- Knowledge of relevant security standards and frameworks
Qualifications
Desired qualifications include:
- Familiarity with technical security controls and guidelines
- Scripting or programming experience in relevant languages
- Experience with penetration testing and web application assessment

Pay
Base salary range: $116,000 - $170,000
