Lead AppSec Engineer

About the role

The Lead Security Engineer will support Gartner’s AppSec function. Key responsibilities include:

• Executing daily vulnerability assessments
• Working with IS partners and technology stakeholders to identify risks and vulnerabilities
• Collaborating on remediation efforts and prioritizing risk remediation
• Implementing and managing security tools and technologies
• Engineering automation solutions and integrations for AppSec
• Providing education and training on security practices
• Serving as a subject matter expert and first point of contact for security issues
• Evaluating business and technical requirements to implement security tools and processes

Requirements

Essential qualifications include:

• 6-8 years of experience in Security Engineering, with focus on DevSecOps, Cloud Security, and AppSec
• Experience with vulnerability scanning, AST platforms, and cloud security tools
• Formal experience with threat modeling
• Leadership experience in project management and resource coordination
• Ability to assess and prioritize risks, and think like a threat actor
• Knowledge of relevant security standards and frameworks

Qualifications

Desired qualifications include:

• Familiarity with technical security controls and guidelines
• Scripting or programming experience in relevant languages
• Experience with penetration testing and web application assessment

Pay

Base salary range: $116,000 - $170,000
