Lead, Antenna Engineer
About the role
The Lead Antenna Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, development, optimization and qualification of reflector and aperture antenna systems. Responsibilities include reflector geometry definition and optimization, feed design and integration, radiation pattern analysis, prediction of gain, sidelobe and cross-polarization performance, link budget support, electromagnetic modeling and simulation using TICRA Tools (GRASP), Ansys HFSS and CST Studio Suite, trade studies, prototype development, and correlation of predicted performance with measured antenna range and chamber data across the full design lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Subject matter expert in antenna engineering with comprehensive knowledge of reflector and aperture antenna design and in-depth knowledge of project management.
- Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
- Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.
- Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
- Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
- Frequently responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees across the Company within area of expertise.
- Manages large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams.
- Makes significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of antenna products and electromagnetic design methods.
- Develops new concepts or standards.
- Solves complex problems spanning a wide range of difficult and unique issues across the function and/or business area.
- Implements strategic goals established by leadership.
- Establishes operational plans for job area with short-term impact on results (e.g., less than 1 year).
- Provides input into new products, processes, standards and/or operational plans that will have measurable impact on the achievement of overall function or business results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Requires comprehensive knowledge of antenna theory, reflector and aperture antenna design, and applied electromagnetics, along with hands-on proficiency in industry simulation tools including TICRA Tools (GRASP), Ansys HFSS and CST Studio Suite.
- Demonstrated experience with feed design, radiation pattern prediction, and antenna measurement and test correlation is required.
- May have in-depth knowledge of project management.
Skills
- Ability to complete up to 10% travel yearly, domestic or international.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a future Security Clearance is required for the role.

Pay
$132,000 - $245,000
Schedule
9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off.
