Lead Analytics Engineer

For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a Lead Analytics Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action—strengthening data-driven execution in a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Own technical architecture and roadmap for complex Analytics Engineering initiatives
• Architect the semantic layer and metrics standards for business KPIs
• Lead the design of an AI-ready data platform for production readiness
• Drive technical excellence in dbt projects including performance tuning and CI/CD
• Define and uphold high standards for SQL, modeling, and documentation
• Mentor team members through code reviews and design feedback
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on schema migrations and feature deployments
• Evaluate and operationalize new data sources and tools to enhance the platform
• Champion data governance and quality, ensuring stakeholder trust in data

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or Business Intelligence leading complex initiatives
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with dbt, specializing in advanced techniques
• 3+ years with cloud-based data warehouses, preferably Snowflake, focusing on performance and cost optimization
• Expertise in SQL and dimensional data modeling with a portfolio of well-tested models
• Experience designing and operating a semantic layer for organizational KPIs
• Ability to mentor senior engineers and drive architectural decisions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical alignment across teams

Pay

$160,000 – $185,000 annually
