Lead AI Engineer

About the role

You will join a team dedicated to advancing the state of the art in science and engineering to deliver value to millions of users through high-performance infrastructure and AI-powered products.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams of engineers, research scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, and support AI software components including foundation model training and large language model inference.
• Leverage a broad stack of open source and SaaS AI technologies to build scalable production systems.
• Invent and introduce state-of-the-art optimization techniques to improve system performance, cost, and latency.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems within the organisation.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics with expertise in hardware, software, and AI optimization.
• Proven experience developing AI and machine learning algorithms or technologies in a production environment.
• Ability to intuitively understand scientific publications and judiciously apply novel techniques to solve business problems.
• Experience with technologies such as PyTorch, Vector Databases, and cloud-based AI infrastructure.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
