Lead AI Application/Software Engineer

The Lead AI Application/Software Engineer works within the Digital team to design, build, deploy and support lightweight applications for Skanska USA Building business use cases where existing enterprise tools or commercial solutions do not fit. The role partners with IT architecture, information security and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous business needs into scoped, shippable solutions, leverages AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while rigorously reviewing, testing and hardening AI‑generated code for correctness, security and maintainability, and establishes development, deployment, documentation and code‑review standards for custom software at USB. The engineer also advises on build‑versus‑configure decisions, defines approved deployment paths with architecture and security partners (Azure‑first options, rapid application platforms, infrastructure as code and CI/CD), and supports citizen developers with guardrails and code review.
