About the role
The Lead Accountant will play a key role in preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, supporting technical accounting matters, and contributing to strategic accounting initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Aid in the interpretation and application of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate timely and efficient audits and reviews, ensuring all necessary supporting documentation is provided.
- Conduct research on complex accounting transactions and prepare written accounting memos for review by management and external auditors.
- Support prospective mergers and acquisitions activity, including financial due diligence and purchase price accounting.
- Work closely with internal teams (FP&A, Tax, Corporate Development, etc.) and external advisors (e.g., legal counsel) as needed to support all financial data reporting needs.
- Assist with special projects impacting the broader accounting organization.
- Stay up to date with emerging accounting pronouncements and industry trends, assessing their impact on the organization.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
- CPA certification.
- 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, with public accounting or financial reporting experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX controls.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).

Pay
Salary Range: $91,389 - $126,000.00 In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above.
