Lead Accessibility Specialist
Targeted salary $50,300 annually, depending on experience. Benefits eligible. Work schedule: Monday – Friday, standard/fixed schedule. Travel not required.
About the Role
Join the University of Oklahoma as a Lead Accessibility Specialist and help create a campus where every student can thrive. You'll support students through the accommodation process, guide faculty and staff on ADA and Section 504 compliance, and lead accessibility training and outreach initiatives. We're seeking a collaborative, knowledgeable professional who is passionate about removing barriers and advancing inclusion in higher education.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 3 years of related experience
Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education and related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Demonstrated experience supporting ADA Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and other appropriate state and federal laws pertaining to higher education disability
- Experience engaging with advocacy-based and grassroots organizations that serve higher education and communities with disabilities or an associated field
- Knowledge of operating within a university culture and setting
- Effective oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with social media platforms, Microsoft Office, Canvas, and other related software programs/modalities
- Strong process improvement skills/experience
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative and respectful manner
- Ability to multi-task and deal with complexity frequently
- Ability to travel
- Ability to complete projects on time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
