Lead A&P Technician - (NetJets Hangar 2)

This is a 2nd shift position (Sunday - Wednesday 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM).

About the role

The Lead A&P Technician reports to the Manager, Maintenance Operations and is responsible for the overall utilization of their area, including the supervision of production personnel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe work practices are followed.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.
• Provide training and assist subordinates in proper procedures, methods, and practices.
• Make available necessary overhaul manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and other required technical data.
• Maintain all equipment and tools in a serviceable and working condition.
• Ensure all necessary work records are properly executed by the responsible person.
• Handle and preserve all parts during the repair process and after work completion.
• Initiate requisitions for stock and materials as required.
• Delegate duties to qualified personnel in their absence, while retaining overall responsibility.

General Duties

• Perform routine inspections or special maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components.
• Perform complete operations checks on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, precision assemblies, rigging, and controls.
• Determine when a component should be repaired or replaced; decide on the necessary repair scheme and secure required parts.
• Repair, rework, and modify worn or defective assemblies, making alterations when necessary.
• Follow approved maintenance procedures, consulting FAA-approved internal procedures, OEM technical data, and work package instructions.
• Inspect completed work to identify needed rework and ensure repaired components meet prescribed standards.
• Perform serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using OEM-specified test equipment.
• Complete work package documentation by signing/stamping after finishing designated operations.
• Submit completed/in-progress work to Quality Assurance for final inspection and airworthiness re-certification.
• Provide the Supervisor with performance statistics and other operational data as requested.
• Properly account for time and materials used in all inspection and maintenance activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate Degree or Technical Certification is most common and may be FAA-required within certain technical areas.
• A&P License (Airframe and Powerplant certificates required).
• FCC General Operator's License is a plus.
• Generally, at least 8 years of experience in aircraft maintenance activities or substantiated equivalent experience.
• Recent depot-level aircraft maintenance and repair experience (mechanical systems, components, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, rigging, etc.).
• Proficiency with interpretation of OEM technical data or work package instructions.
• Experience using power or pneumatic hand tools.
• Desired: Prior experience in an executive jet repair facility, preferably with Embraer 145 and/or Legacy aircraft.
• 5–7 years of supervisory/management experience in heavy maintenance or MRO.

• Leadership in applying new processes and skills to improve the technician function.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining quality.
• Knowledge of FAA requirements for aircraft maintenance procedures.
• Ability to interpret and comprehend manufacturer and FAA-approved work package instructions.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repairs, and maintenance.
• Understanding of principles and processes for providing customer service.
• Skilled in repairing, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining equipment.

Schedule

Sunday - Wednesday, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM (2nd shift).

Working Conditions

• Ability to work in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations.
• Must be able to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 without restrictions.
• Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required.
• Subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
