Leach Tank Operator LPCT

Principal Accountabilities

• Pattern Preparation: Inspects pattern. Seals all open chills using hot pencils. Loads and unloads leaching fixtures as needed.

• Leaching: Operates pumping system to mix chemicals in leach tank. Places patterns in leach tank for appropriate time periods. Removes patterns following cycle. Inspects removed pattern for residue, defects and breakage using lights, mirrors and other hand-held tools. Maintains fluid levels in tanks. Records pH levels of fluids. Neutralizes acids for disposal.

• Housekeeping and Storage: Maintains a safe work environment, using proper storage and handling techniques for chemicals used in leaching process. Stores chemicals using established techniques. May be required to handle hazardous waste.

• Other: Cleans work areas and equipment. Cleans other areas in wax department as needed. Records keeping: Completes logs and records of parts and tank activities.
