About the role
The Deputy Sheriff performs intermediate protective services with frequent exposure to high-risk situations. This position will exercise independent judgement in patrolling roadways and cities within the jurisdiction, enforce statutes and ordinances, make critical decisions, conduct general patrol, respond to emergency calls, monitor traffic, conduct investigations, prepare reports, develop community partnerships, and carry out special duties while using a significant degree of independent judgement and decision-making under the limited supervision of the Captain, Chief Deputy Sheriff and County Sheriff.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Frequent exposure to high-risk situations.
- Exercise independent judgement.
- Use significant degree of independent judgement and decision-making.
- Under limited supervision of the Captain, Chief Deputy Sheriff and County Sheriff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license.
- Minimum of 2 years of law enforcement experience.
- Must meet physical requirements as determined by the Sheriff’s Office.
