About the experience

Le Petit Prince, l'Odyssée immersive is an immersive journey presented at the Atelier des Lumières in Paris from 5 July to 13 September 2026, on Wednesdays and Sundays. It brings Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's watercolours to the scale of a former foundry in about fifty minutes of 360° projections. The story, one of the most translated books in the world, leaves its pocket format to take over the walls and floor of the digital art centre. The narrative unfolds sequence by sequence, carried by spatialised sound.

What to expect

  • A children's book brought to the scale of a building: the famous watercolours and text come to life directly on the walls and floor, image after image, at the size of the venue
  • Sequences follow the stages of the story: the Earth's desert, asteroid B612, and the planets the little prince travels through, each populated by a character embodying a grown-up flaw
  • The fox, the rose, and the snake speak; a sunset stretches out, and a sheep may be hiding somewhere
  • Images envelop the room on 360°; the scenery changes while the spectator stays in place
  • An immersive experience lasting approximately 50 minutes, in French, with no age restriction
  • A children's play area extends the visit

Production & creative team

  • A co-production of Culturespaces Studio and the Succession Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
  • Artistic direction: Nicolas Charlin
  • Image design and animation: Spectre Lab
  • Soundtrack: Start-Rec
  • Narration in French, carried by voice and music

The venue

  • Atelier des Lumières: a 19th-century former foundry repurposed by Culturespaces as a digital art centre
  • Approximately 140 video projectors cover nearly 3,300 square metres of walls and floor, supported by about fifty speakers distributing sound throughout the space
  • Images rise up to about ten metres; columns, chimneys, and former basins become projection surfaces
  • Visit duration: approximately 50 minutes
