LCS Mine Counter-Measures (MCM) Warfare Trainer at LCS Training Facility Pacific (LTFPAC)
About the role
This role is for a Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mine Counter-Measures (MCM) Warfare Trainer and Subject Matter Expert (SME) with recent operational fleet experience in MCM operations, CSTT technical and tactical, and MIWE.
Responsibilities
- Develops and organizes mine warfare (MIW) training and educational programs for personnel assigned to Littoral Combat Ships.
- Conducts training on MIW and MCM systems, their capabilities and limitations, automated systems, mission planning, and tactical communications.
- Supports the Train-to-Qualify (T2Q) and Type Commander Training and Certification (TTC) process by dynamically assessing watch standers during integrated scenarios.
- Prepares, reviews, and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides in support of traditional classroom teaching.
- Supports formal course reviews and curriculum updates; conducts training gap analysis and provides feedback for course improvement.
- Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers Navy Mine Warfare training programs and related materials in support of SCSTC training objectives.
- Establishes and reviews course content and objectives; conducts training sessions and develops evaluation criteria.
- Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
- Supports extended periods on feet while instructing and may require travel up to 10% of time.
Requirements
- Education: Associates/Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
- Experience: Seven (7) years of experience with Mine Warfare (MIW)/Mine Counter-Measures (MCM) as a supervisor or operator with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment.
- One (1) year of experience as an Instructor/Trainer in a Navy Training Environment, including presentation skills, public speaking, curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials, and counseling students on academic learning problems.
- Experience as an Instructor/Trainer and/or a Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of SCSTC/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Ability to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
- Travel may be required up to 10% of time.
Qualifications
- Seven (7) years of experience with Mine Warfare (MIW)/Mine Counter-Measures (MCM) as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment.
- One (1) year of experience as an Instructor/Trainer in a Navy Training Environment, to include presentation skills, public speaking, curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.
- Experience as an Instructor/Trainer and/or a Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of SCSTC/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus.
- Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
- Travel may be required up to 10% of time.

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $74,800 - $101,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
