Layne Driller

General Summary

The Driller performs routine drilling, sampling, and well installation tasks as well as routine mechanical work necessary to maintain equipment in operating condition. This job requires travel, must have reliable transportation. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Responsible for loading and mobilizing equipment to project site
• Responsible for performing and documenting drilling project tasks
• Performs preventative maintenance procedures and other duties as required

Education and Certification

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Prefer Mud School certification
• Preferred State Drillers License
• Preferred Welding Certifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Mechanical/Welding Aptitude
• Ability to operate all drilling associated equipment (backhoe, forklift, etc.)
• Ability to follow instructions and implement standard operating procedures
• Ability to direct self and 1 to 2 others
• Good oral and written communication skills

Additional Requirements/Skills

• Must be able to attain a Class A CDL
• Physical Demands: Regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands to operate small hand tools, lift up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs
• Specific Vision Abilities: Close vision, ability to adjust focus
