Manoharan Malayalam – Founding Principal
Manoharan obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons.) from the University of Sheffield in 1989 and completed his pupillage in the chambers of eminent lawyers R.K Nathan (a former High Court judge) and Kartar Singh between 1991 and 1992. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (Business Administration) from the University of Malaya (1985). After being called to the bar in 1992, he worked as a Legal Assistant to Karpal Singh of Karpal Singh & Co., specializing in Civil and Criminal Litigation. He founded Messrs M Manoharan and Co in Kuala Lumpur in 2001.
His practice spans Commercial, Corporate, and Private Client Work, including sales and purchase of private properties, residential and commercial leases, power of attorney reviews, and ad-hoc work for banks and insurance companies. He specializes in Civil and Commercial Litigation, handling disputes related to breach of contract, trust and administration matters, traffic accident and insurance claims, debt collection, insolvency actions, adoption, and divorce. Manoharan is also actively involved in community service and assisting the needy.

Anis Salihah binti Abdul Malek – Legal Associate
Anis obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam in 2019 and completed her pupillage at Messrs Amir Khusyairi & Associates in 2020, where she assisted in Corporate and Civil Litigation and was exposed to Criminal Litigation. She joined M Manoharan & Co. in September 2020 and was admitted to the bar on October 2, 2020.
Within her first few months, she conducted criminal trials independently at courts of first instance and served as junior counsel in the Court of Appeal and Federal Court. Her primary focus is criminal litigation, but she also handles civil suits and judicial review matters.

Nur Syamimi Adriana Shaharim – Legal Associate
Nur Syamimi obtained her LL.B. (Hons) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and was called to the bar on September 25, 2020, after completing her pupillage under Mr. Jagjeet Singh at Messrs Saleem Gill & Partners, where she trained in civil litigation, particularly running down matters. She joined M Manoharan & Co. in January 2022.
She represents clients in lower courts, the High Court, and the Court of Appeal in matters including personal injury claims, criminal defense, tortious claims, and contractual disputes.

Adiishyiah Tangarajoo – Legal Associate
Adiishyiah graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) from the University of Malaya in 2021 and completed her pupillage at Messrs Dennis Nik and Wong between October 2021 and July 2022. She was admitted to the bar on August 19, 2022, and joined M Manoharan & Co. on August 29, 2022.
She has experience conducting hearings at the Court of Appeal and handles a wide range of Civil Litigation matters, including contract law, land matters, defamation, divorce and family matters, and employment law. She also practices Criminal Litigation.

Sarathbala Balakrishnan – Legal Associate
Sarathbala read law at the University of Liverpool, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons, 2nd upper) in 2019. He subsequently enrolled in the Barrister-at-law and LLM course at City, University of London in 2020. During this time, he shadowed Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) Solicitors at Willesden Magistrates Court in London.
He was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn on July 26, 2022, and commenced his pupillage under M Manoharan, gaining exposure to high-profile criminal matters, including murder and drug trafficking cases. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on November 24, 2024, and retained at M Manoharan & Co.
He has assisted in notable cases, including the late DPP Kevin Morais murder case at the Appellate Court and PP vs Sheila Sharon from Magistrate Court to the Court of Appeal. While his primary interest lies in criminal matters, he also handles civil litigation involving bankruptcy, contract law, family law, employment law, and dispute resolution.
