Duties And Responsibilities
- Collaborate with VSB O’Donnell Center for Professional Development Assistant Dean and team, VU Career Center, and College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Ellis Center for Professional Development to vision the future of the business of fashion/beauty initiatives and develop execution plan.
- Serve as Advisor for the Business of Fashion Society (BoFS) and related activities; regularly conduct update meetings and communicate with the executive board to establish annual goals, plan for academic year activities, monitor on-going activities, etc.
- Guide BoFS in planning the annual Business of Fashion Symposium, including helping secure speakers and developing agenda.
- Aid in developing and expanding BoFS client-based Immersion Project initiative; help to source clients and provide guidance to Project Teams.
- Partner with O’Donnell Center Director of Career Education & Student Initiatives to contribute to advancement of VSB’s student business society culture and identify opportunities to assist with other groups.
- Engage Villanova alumni and other employers in fashion/beauty industries to create opportunities for TREKs (employer site visits), professional development, and career opportunities.
- Expand programming and compile relevant resources for students interested in fashion/beauty industries.
- Host 1:1 coaching appointments and group sessions with students to provide industry-related career and professional development guidance.
- Potential to teach special topics course based on fashion/beauty industry dynamics and emerging trends.
- Produce an annual report to the Lawson Family on the activities of the Lawson Fellow and Business of Fashion Society.
- On-campus presence throughout the semester for meetings and programs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
Professional experience working in fashion, beauty, luxury, and/or related industries and current network of contacts in those industries.
Experience with and/or understanding of the importance of an intentional approach to college student career and professional development.
