Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents.
  • Support travelers and staff with strong customer service and communication.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Exercise sound judgment and render immediate, appropriate decisions, under stressful conditions.
  • Recognize, respond, and take appropriate and corrective actions to various situations.
  • Take orders, follow instructions, accept and assume responsibility for one’s actions.
  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Exercise physical force, if required, in the execution of their official duties.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level).
  • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying).
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Law Enforcement Officer License.
  • 22+ years of age.

Qualifications

  • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C.922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings (referring to the decisions in Giglio v. United States, 405 U. S. 105 (1972) and United States v. Henthorn, 931 F. 2d 29 (9th Cir. 1991)).
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions.
  • No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties.

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned post/duties.
  • In good physical health and be fully capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking patrolling for an entire shift(s), climbing stairs, running and self-defense.
  • Ability to perform essential physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
  • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (e.g., fire extinguisher) for a designated distance.
  • Assisting in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or providing support to persons with limited mobility.
  • Be able to successfully pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office.
  • Well-groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State.
  • Pass and complete a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months.
  • Pass a 12-panel drug test and pass all future random drug testing.
  • Able to hear at a normal conversational level. A hearing aid may be used to.

Pay

$28.86 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.
