Responsibilities

Promote public safety in patrol area.
Respond to all dispatch calls in a timely manner.
Investigate illegal or suspicious activities.
Respond to a variety of calls that require several intervention approaches ranging from personal counseling techniques to the use of physical or deadly force.
Take control of accident scenes to maintain traffic flow, to assist accident victims, and to investigate causes.
Observe traffic and initiate traffic stops.
Perform checks on dwellings, buildings and grounds to ensure prevention of damage by fire, theft and/or vandalism.
Respond to calls for assistance, administer first aid at crime or accident scenes; also securing these scenes to make sure the integrity of the scene and evidence are not compromised.
Verify that the proper legal charges have been made against law offenders.
Execute arrest warrants, locating and taking persons into custody.

Requirements

  • Graduation from High school or an equivalent program.
  • Minimum Qualifications And Standards Required: Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Certification from a Department of Law Enforcement Police Standards and Training Commission.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent stooping and bending required, as well as manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and the ability to grasp objects. Requires the ability to see, hear, and speak. Requires the ability to walk for extended periods of time.
