About the role

We are seeking an Applied Legal Benchmark Specialist to author and review high-quality legal questions for AI evaluation. This contract role is remote and requires a commitment of 10+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Author original law questions that test deep conceptual understanding, ensuring they are unambiguous, self-contained, and precisely defined.
• Rate each question's difficulty as Medium, Hard, or Expert.
• Provide 1 correct answer and 9 plausible but subtly incorrect alternatives.
• Write step-by-step Chain-of-Thought solutions with clear, concise reasoning in markdown format.
• Supply 1–5 academic references per question.
• Review pre-written questions for accuracy, clarity, and rigor; edit where needed, rate difficulty, and document any changes made.
• Flag issues with clarity, completeness, precision, or solvability in verification tasks and justify any edits made.

Requirements

• JD, LLM, SJD, or doctoral candidate in Law or a closely related field.
• Strong command of legal reasoning, statutory interpretation, and jurisprudential theory.
• Excellent written English and ability to express complex legal ideas clearly and concisely.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with bar exam writing, legal academia, or judicial clerkships.

Pay

$83–$105/hour
