About the role

The Laundry Worker performs a variety of tasks at CMI’s customer site in Emmitsburg, MD, including collecting linen from various buildings, sorting soiled linen, operating commercial washers and dryers, folding clean linen, and delivering it back to the buildings.

Responsibilities

• Count and record linen processed daily from each dorm building.
• Ensure proper pickup and delivery of linen to dorm buildings.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, including machines, worktables, and sorting areas.
• Perform laundry activities while adhering to quality standards, safety guidelines, and customer service expectations.
• Operate commercial washers and dryers.
• Report equipment or cleaning product needs and malfunctions to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Assist with the annual linen inventory.

Requirements

• Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) in all appropriate functions.
• Familiarity with the safe and proper use of detergents and adherence to safety precautions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
• Capable of pulling and pushing up to 70 pounds and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to twist, bend, and reach from floor to waist height and from waist to chest level.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Demonstrate a pleasant, tactful, and courteous demeanor while cooperating with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
