Laundry Attendant

Location: Las Vegas – Owens Campus | Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in laundry services, housekeeping, or a similar role preferred
• Ability to operate or learn commercial laundry equipment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic understanding of sanitation and safety practices
• Ability to work effectively with program staff, community partners, and vendors
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating professionalism while problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, and separate laundry by type, color, or cleaning method
• Operate commercial washing machines and dryers
• Inspect laundry for stains or tears
• Fold, stack, label, and organize clean linens
• Maintain inventory of towels, linens, and laundry supplies
• Deliver clean laundry to assigned areas or storage rooms
• Maintain a clean laundry room and the surrounding areas
• Clean and sanitize machines, worktables, and floor daily
• Follow chemical safety guidelines and PPE requirements
• Monitor laundry supplies and notify supervisor when inventory is low
• Report malfunctioning equipment or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned, as they relate to the position of Laundry Attendant

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information
