About the Role
Responsible for cleaning, folding, pressing, and sorting hotel linen to the quality and safety standards set by Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino. Work collaboratively with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service and quality performance of team members.
Responsibilities
- Wash, dry, fold, and store linens, including sheets, pillowcases, bedspreads, draperies, towels, mats, shower curtains, and blankets following company policies and procedures.
- Keep count of everything laundered each day and note this on the housekeeper sheet (when requested).
- Check linens daily for wear or stains that may make them unsuitable for use; keep count of rejected linens.
- Responsible for the day-to-day care of laundry equipment; advise Hotel Facilities/Housekeeping Manager promptly concerning maintenance and repairs.
- Assist Hotel Housekeeping as assigned, including loading and unloading washers and dryers.
- Separate terry from linen and wash separately.
- Ensure that all linen and terry is free of stains and tears prior to washing.
- Clean dryer lint screens daily and as needed; clean exterior of machines daily.
- Sweep and mop the laundry floor daily; clean the entire laundry area once per week.
- Maintain laundry carts and racks by cleaning bi-monthly.
- Provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times.
- Maintain current health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and enterprise regulations.
- Maintain proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies, including proper labeling of hazardous supplies.
- Maintain work area in a good and safe state of repair; keep areas clean, safe, and well-stocked.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Able and willing to work any shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong guest service and problem-solving skills.
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise, smoke, and temperature levels.
- Six months of related experience and/or training preferred; related, relevant, or direct experience may substitute for minimum educational/experience requirements.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both spoken and written.
- Obtain and maintain any certification or license required by law or policy.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members of different backgrounds and experience levels.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License may be required to use company vehicles and must be insurable through STRC’s insurance provider.
- Ability to secure and maintain a state or tribal gaming license.
