Laundry Attendant

This role is based at the 203-room Wellsworth Hotel in Southbridge, Massachusetts—a historic, IACC-accredited conference center offering elegant accommodations, 24,000 square feet of meeting space, a restaurant and lounge, indoor pool, and fitness center.

About the role

Operate all laundry and dry-cleaning machinery to process bed linens, terry, table linens, staff and guest garments, and designated guest-room fabrics. Perform cleaning, pressing, finishing, and inspection of all items to the hotel’s quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Sort, pretreat, wash, dry, iron, and fold linens.
• Inspect linens for tears and/or stains; reject or reclaim as appropriate.
• Mend and sew linens when needed.
• Fill banquet and restaurant linen requisitions.
• Deliver guest service supplies to guest rooms.
• Process contract-cleaned linens.
• Restock housekeeping closets and carts.
• Provide towel service to recreation areas.
• Use correct cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Use correct personal protection equipment per hotel policies and procedures.
• Maintain standards of quality and cleanliness throughout daily assignments.
• Observe all house and safety rules, housekeeping room procedures, and security procedures.
• Cooperate with managers and supervisors to complete requests promptly.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate clearly with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Knowledge of laundry/dry-cleaning equipment and chemical handling.
• Knowledge of finishing techniques for all types of fabrics.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
