About the Role
A Laundry Attendant ensures hotel bedding, linen, and towels are clean and available for servicing guest rooms in a timely manner, following stringent guidelines to meet quality standards of cleanliness and sanitization.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to a flexible schedule and start times.
- Maintain professional appearance and wear proper attire with a nametag while on shift.
- Complete all required company and brand-specific training and certifications in a timely manner.
- Greet guests warmly in public areas and respond to guest requests and inquiries promptly.
- Be familiar with all hotel services and features.
- Maintain professionalism consistent with hotel brand and company expectations.
- Provide clean, sanitary, and inviting hotel bedding and towels for guests.
- Separate linen into specific types and follow proper sanitization protocols for soiled linen.
- Follow established health and safety procedures for using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Load, wash, and dry linen as directed, adhering to programming guidelines.
- Remove stains from items using appropriate procedures.
- Clean dryer lint filters regularly for safety and document the times.
- Sort and fold linen according to hotel requirements, ensuring neat stacking in designated areas.
- Inform the supervisor when loads are ready for transport to the floors.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the laundry room.
- Stock carts and storage rooms with necessary linens and supplies at the end of each day.
- Maintain and clean public areas according to the checklist.
- Report maintenance deficiencies via work orders to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Adhere to work expectations, timelines, and master key sign-out protocols.
- Identify and report lost-and-found items following hotel procedures.
- Follow supervisor directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Abide by timekeeping policies for clocking in/out, breaks, and lunch.
- Attend scheduled meetings and necessary training sessions as requested.
- Know and follow the hotel’s emergency procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, efficiency, and under time constraints.
- Physical mobility and stamina to push/pull up to 50 lbs and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, pivot, and grip items while working.
- Manual dexterity and coordination to operate all necessary equipment.
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and complete multiple assignments despite interruptions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to organize, plan ahead, and manage workload.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
