Laundry attendant
JOB SUMMARY
A housekeeping attendant at a hotel, responsible for ensuring all linen and terry are clean and well-maintained. Duties include sorting, washing, and stocking laundry.
JOB DUTIES
- Handle washing of bed and dining linens, towels, and some kitchen linens.
- Sorting linens, towels, clothing, and other laundry items by color, size, and material.
- Washing items with commercial laundry equipment following proper sanitization protocols.
- Cleaning and maintaining laundry room area and equipment.
- Unloading laundry from commercial dryers.
- Stocking laundry supplies such as detergent, bleach, laundry bags, and fabric softener.
- Stocking storage closets with linens and terry in a clean and well-organized manner.
- Inspecting inventory for stains, damages, or wear & tear and recording those defects.
- Ironing, pressing, and/or steaming of textiles.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Good customer service skills when handling customer and guest requests.
- Physical stamina when remaining stationary for extended periods and moving laundry loads.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks throughout each shift.
- Attention to detail when stocking linens and terry.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Adheres to federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding fair housing guidelines, and employment related laws and regulations.
- Performs duties in all aspects of hotel operations whenever needed, write, and correspond with outside business.
- Ability to utilize the property management system technology, requires the ability to work through all reporting, perform audits as needed.
- Ability to organize multiple priorities to ensure that daily operations are performed at peak efficiency.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position requires the ability to stand and walk or sit alternatively depending on the specific needs of the day.
- Occasional need to bend/stoop/squat, climb stairs, push, or pull, and reach above shoulder (cleaning up litter, open doors, pick up and move items).
- Frequent need to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated ability to operate tools and machinery within scope of work.
