Laundry Aide

Job Summary

Alaska Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center in is seeking a Laundry Aide responsible for assisting in all aspects of laundering resident clothing and facility linens.

Essential Functions

• Folding and distributing clean linens.
• Inspecting mechanical lift slings and sling straps for fraying and wear.
• Keeping residents' closet/drawer areas orderly.
• Cleaning dryer lint screens.
• Demonstrating adherence to OSHA and CDC guidelines to minimize infections by following aseptic techniques including those that apply to blood borne pathogens.
• Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the position's requirements.

Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees.
• Has compassion and special interest in working with the senior population.
