PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice for all project stages to support the acquisition life cycle.
- Sustain support for program acquisition for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration.
- Advise and assist on cost, schedule, and performance issues.
- Revise or draft Joint Capabilities Integrated Development System (JCIDS) and acquisition documentation for Government program managers.
- Support presentations of products to internal and external customers.
- Provide draft SME-level technical and/or programmatic status reports as requested.
- Identify and recommend improvements in acquisition processes.
- Affirm and assist in building and maintaining a Government risk program.
- Maintain awareness of current program schedules and monitor acquisition implementation.
- Provide program assessments based on identified risks.
- Advise on technical engagements such as meetings, design reviews, and conferences.
- Assist integrated product teams and establish customer and contractor interfaces.
- Provide technical and operational insight to support mission protection and operations.
- Recommend solutions for technical anomalies and evaluate impact analysis and audits.
- Assist in test and operations, including planning and coordination of system-level test integration.
- Provide analytical and operational engineering support for mission planning and protection.
- Support data and signal collection, processing, analysis, and post-mission analysis.
- Facilitate communication between SSC/AA and other Government space vehicle and/or launch system procuring agencies.
- Maintain insight into launch activities to ensure mission requirements are met.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be an SME Recognized Industry Leader.
- Requires MA/MS degree and more than 10 years’ relevant experience/status as follows: Expert in classified weapon system launch planning, processing, and execution.
- Highly knowledgeable in the processes and products required to successfully design and test a space system to ensure successful launch vehicle integration.
- Highly knowledgeable in the launch vehicle development and design process, schedule, and key agencies.
- A bachelor’s degree may substitute for the MA/MS degree if the candidate possesses at least 12 years of experience in this type of position or program.
- The Materiel Leader may also waive the MA/MS requirement.
