About the role
This position involves overseeing the launch of new products or processes in manufacturing and warehousing, enforcing safety protocols, conducting training sessions, and managing a team to meet production and distribution objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the launch of new products or processes in manufacturing and warehousing, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees, conducting regular safety audits and training.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on new equipment, processes, and safety protocols to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Maintain a working list of current projects and statuses.
- Responsible for effective record keeping, filing, and other administrative duties as required.
- Warehouse experience with forklift, packaging, and measuring.
- Demonstrates the ability to understand equipment and tolerances from experience and successful past performance.
- Knowledge of 6S, good housekeeping, and safety standards a plus.
- Understanding building layouts and ability to implement floor striping and signage based on CAD design/layout.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and refine manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal workflow and productivity.
- Maintain timely, effective, and professional communications with all internal and external customers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare and present reports on launch progress, challenges, and outcomes to management, offering insights for future projects.
- Having a working knowledge of CAD and how to operate.
Requirements
- Basic math and reading skills obtained by a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate with plant manager, sales staff, and warehouse personnel.
- Demonstrates the ability to understand equipment and tolerances from past experience and successful past performance.
- Warehouse experience with forklift, packing, and measuring.
- Successful leadership and team building skills – even if from an unrelated business or non-business organization.
- Ability to travel up to 75% nationally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2-3 years previous supervisory experience in a related field.
- Possess the knowledge of metals handled in regard to proper staging, processing, packaging, and shipping.
- First aid and CPR training.
- Exposure to labor relations, safety programs, ISO standards, lean practices, and sales functions.
