Responsibilities
- Operate hydro and friction cranes for structure erection or equipment setting.
- Repair and maintain equipment as required.
- Follow LPR’s safety policies and take actions to avoid potential hazards.
- Adjust levers and depress pedals to control crane attachments.
- Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate cranes.
- Locate underground services and overhead potential hazards before starting work.
- Align machines, loads, or overhead gauge markers with reference stakes and guidelines.
- Know and follow load and wind charts for safe operations.
- Drive and maneuver equipment, remove and place loads, and distribute materials.
- Coordinate machine actions with other activities, responding to hand or audio signals.
- Perform tear down and set up of crane, and move in and out of crane locations.
- Talk to foremen and supervisors, study instructions, plans, and diagrams to establish work requirements.
- Keep records of material and equipment usage and report any needed repairs.
- Facilitate repairs for cranes being operated by the operator.
Requirements
- Pass US citizenship and background check.
- Have 500 verified hours of seat time in the type of crane for which you are applying within the past 3 years.
- Have at least 6000 hours of on-the-job seat time as a Journeyman Crane Operator.
- Hold NCCER or NCCCO Mobile Crane operator certification relevant to the crane being operated.
- Have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Be part of LPR’s team.
