Lattice Boom Crane Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate hydro and friction cranes for structure erection or equipment setting.
• Repair and maintain equipment as required.
• Follow LPR’s safety policies and take actions to avoid potential hazards.
• Adjust levers and depress pedals to control crane attachments.
• Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate cranes.
• Locate underground services and overhead potential hazards before starting work.
• Align machines, loads, or overhead gauge markers with reference stakes and guidelines.
• Know and follow load and wind charts for safe operations.
• Drive and maneuver equipment, remove and place loads, and distribute materials.
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities, responding to hand or audio signals.
• Perform tear down and set up of crane, and move in and out of crane locations.
• Talk to foremen and supervisors, study instructions, plans, and diagrams to establish work requirements.
• Keep records of material and equipment usage and report any needed repairs.
• Facilitate repairs for cranes being operated by the operator.

Requirements

• Pass US citizenship and background check.
• Have 500 verified hours of seat time in the type of crane for which you are applying within the past 3 years.
• Have at least 6000 hours of on-the-job seat time as a Journeyman Crane Operator.
• Hold NCCER or NCCCO Mobile Crane operator certification relevant to the crane being operated.
• Have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Be part of LPR’s team.
